PNC-1G : Para Nuclear Counter (GM Tube Based)

Para Nuclear Counter, Model PNC-1G is a micro controller based, economical, stand alone, portable mains operated instrument for Nuclear Counting application. It is a versatile instrument can be programmed as Preset Timer.

Model PNC-1G uses GM tube as nuclear radiation detector. Necessary electronics & high voltage supply are housed in the equipment. Coaxial cable with UHF connector connects the GM tube to Model PNC-1G.PNC-1G can store 1000 readings in a non-volatile memory. These readings can be downloaded to PC via USB interface. These readings can also be scanned on LCD display after the counting experiment.

PNC-1G is also equipped with special Plateau Mode. In this mode, HV is automatically increased in steps of 50 Volts. For each HV setting, average counts reading is stored in the memory. These readings are recalled to view them on LCD. User can transfer these readings to PC using data transfer software which will generate plateau graph indicating Plateau slope.

PNC-1G is ideally suited for Nuclear Experiments carried out in Universities and colleges. It is also useful for (Gamma / Beta) radiation counting for Health Physics applications in radioisotope laboratories, nuclear reactors, nuclear power plants, nuclear medicine centers etc. End window GM tube Model 712 or equivalent can be supplied along with a planchet holder as an accessory for Model PNC-1G. Any other End Window GM tube can also be supplied as an option. Appropriate GM tube is selected, depending upon the application.

Lead Shield with door assembly is available as optional accessory for low level counting applications. It houses the GM Tube and planchet holder. Shield dimensions are development on the selected GM Tube.

Para Alpha Counter Model PNC-Alpha is a micro-controller based, economical, stand alone instruments for Alpha counting applications. It works on an internally mounted 12V battery which is charged through mains operated charger ranging from 90-270 Volts AC Supply. Model PNC-Alpha, uses ZnS(Ag) alpha scintillator, is protected from stray light by a thin layer of aluminized myler sheet and is mounted on photo multiplier tube as nuclear radiation detector. Necessary electronics & high voltage supply are housed in the equipment. Coaxial cable with UHF connector connects the Alpha Detector to Model PNC-Alpha

PNC-Alpha can store 1000 readings in a non-volatile memory. These readings can be downloaded to PC via USB interface. These readings can also be scanned on LCD display after the counting experiment.

PNC-Alpha, is available in two types ‘Standard’ and ‘Low background’. Both type of units are except BACKGROUND Counts per Hour specification, rest all specifications of both types of units are same. Added advantage of this unit is, it calculates and displays the efficiency.

PNC-Alpha, is ideally suited for Nuclear Counting Experiments carried out in Universities and colleges. It is also useful for radiation counting for Health Physics applications in radioisotope laboratories, nuclear reactors, nuclear power plants, environmental survey labs, etc.

A Drawer Assembly to hold 1" dia or 2" dia filter paper is supplied as standard accessory. The detector mounts upside down on the drawer assembly such that myler face of the detector is just 2 mm above the sample filter paper.

Para Alpha Scintillation Counter Model α-Scin is a micro-controller based, economical, stand alone, battery as well as mains operated instrument for Alpha Counting applications. α-Scin uses ZnS(Ag) alpha scintillator with aluminized mylar, mounted on photo multiplier tube as nuclear radiation detector. Necessary electronics and high voltage supply are housed in the equipment.

α-Scin is useful for Alpha counting for Health Physics applications in radioisotope laboratories, nuclear reactors, nuclear power plants, environmental survey labs, etc.

α-Scin is supplied with a drawer assembly which enables user to keep 1” or 2” dia samples under the scintillator.

α-Scin uses micro controller for counting, menu display and key board functions. Pulse processing electronics generates the TTL shaped pulses fed as input to the counter. Typical Alpha Counting efficiency is better than 22%.

α-Scin has 8 x 1 line LCD menu display with back-lit facility. Counts up to 999999 are displayed at the end of preset time. Timer can be set in Auto/Manual Mode. During Auto Mode,

α-Scin counts the pulses for 1 minute time interval and then displays on LCD. In Manual Mode of operation, Start/Stop Key sets the start and end of counting time. In Set Time Mode, preset time set by the user controls counter and after counting is over, counts will be displayed on LCD. Reset Key enables user to clear the counts taken in earlier run.

Para Model ASC-05A / ASC-10A Automated Sample Changer - Alpha Counter is a versatile indigenously developed system for Alpha radiation counting of samples on 25 mm (1”) or 51 mm (2”) diameter filter papers or planchets.

Model ASC-05A / ASC-10A incorporates programmable sample positioning system and programmable Alpha Counting System. Once the system is programmed it can work On-line (PC connected) or Off-line (PC disconnected). Sample positioning/movement, system and counting parameters and report generation is programmed by user friendly menu based PC software. Alpha Counting System incorporates ZnS(Ag) Scintillation Detector **, programmable high voltage, preamplifier, spectroscopy amplifier, SCA/Counter/Timer programmable by PC. The front end electronics is specifically designed for achieving very low background counts.

The software provided with Automated Sample Changer – Alpha Counter assists user to set various Operating Parameters and Motion Control Parameters. Report is generated after completion of counting process with Sample ID, Counts, date, time, Operating parameters etc. in predefined formats. Reports can be saved in Text format and available for printing via USB port.

Model ASC-05A / ASC-10A is ideally suited for Health Physics labs, Environmental Survey labs, Nuclear Power Plants etc where large numbers of samples are handled for routine counting and records.
